Jeanne Carol Watkins, born 28 August 1953 in Orleans, France, passed away unexpectedly on November 17th in Bradenton, Florida at the age of 66. She was surrounded by loved ones. An Army brat, Jeanne lived in Orleans, France; Fort Eustis, VA; Ludwisburg, Germany; Bradenton, FL; Cocoli, Canal Zone; Augusta, GA; Fort Knox, KY, and finally settled in Bradenton in 1971. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Jeanne was always the first to volunteer her time for anyone who needed help, whether it be for family, friends, or co-workers. Jeanne worked for Manatee County for over 30 years. She loved her job and was admired by many throughout her entire professional career. Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike Watkins; her son Joseph (Kim) Watkins; brothers Thomas, Patrick, Paul; mother-in-law Agnes (Mahan) Watkins; sister-in-law Mary Ann Watkins; brother-in-law Jim (Theresa) Watkins; aunts Betty (Greene) Peebles, Patricia (Greene) Cerully, Jackie (Armstrong) Wingate; niece Patricia (Stansberry) Cook; her dearest friends Anne & Steve Simpson; and various cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeanne was predeceased by her father Roy Forrest Greene, mother Inez (Armstrong) Greene, and brother Roy Greene. The family held a private celebration of life. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Dr., Sarasota, FL 34243.
