Jeannie A.J. Holcomb
December 21st, 1937 - July 5th, 2010
Our family lost a beautiful wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend on July 5, 2010. Mom passed peacefully with Dad and her children Deborah Jahnke (Donaldson), Sheryl Haile (Donaldson) and Gary, Michael, Mark and Jenny (Donaldson), Sean (Hardy) and Dawn Ross (Hardy), and other loved ones at her side. Jack Donaldson (1976) and Steve Hardy (1974) preceded her in death as did parents Lars and Gina Svege and brother Stanley . She also leaves sisters Laila Carlsen and Margie Strandoo, step-children Steve, Pam and Marc Holcomb, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces , nephews, brother Maury and many friends.Born on December 21, 1937, Arlene Joan Svege grew up in Ballard, married Jack Donaldson in 1954 and raised four children (Deborah, Sheryl, Michael and Mark ). Mom remarried in 1969 (Steve) and had two more children, Sean and Dawn. In 1974, Steve, a commercial fisherman was lost at sea. God gave mom strength, stamina, and an enormous capacity to love and a strong faith and extended family to single parent teenagers and toddlers together. Then, in 1980 God gave her Dad. On May 3rd, 2010, mom and Dad (Chuck) who has known mom since she was 10 years old, (both grew up in Ballard), celebrated 30 years together. Mom lived mostly in the Seattle area, five years in Houston and the last 20 years in Port Ludlow where she and Dad built their dream home and many family memories together. She loved children and worked briefly as a childcare teacher at Northwest Hospital in Seattle and The Honey Tree in Houston. She loved dancing, music boxes, gardening, decorating, shopping, dining out, watching movies, being silly, dressing fashionably and family celebrations. We miss her and will always remember her humor, unconditional love, her advice to stop and smell the roses, wear the right thing, put things away when you are done, and always kiss and say I love you at goodbyes. We luva luva luva you.Rest in Peace.
