Jeff D. Barnes

Jeff D. Barnes passed away September 9, 2019 at his home in Rochester, Washington, surrounded by family. He was born May 27, 1951 in Bellingham, Washington to George and Gloria Barnes. Jeff graduated from Bellingham Technical College’s Auto and Diesel Mechanics Program. He married Connie Tveter in Custer, Washington on February 18, 1989. They spent some time living in Ferndale, Washington, and eventually settled in Rochester. Jeff was a long haul truck driver for 42 years, and drove for J & S Enterprises from 2002 until 2018. He had a passion for trucks, hot rods, muscle cars and race cars. He also took pride in maintaining his cars and trucks in top form. Jeff is survived by his wife, Connie Barnes of Rochester; son, Jeff Barnes of Tenino, Washington; daughters, Tanayle Haga of Seattle, Washington, Scarlett Grey of Bellingham, Washington, Ariana Howland of Richland, Washington; brother, Jesse Barnes of Bellingham; sister, Vicki Wagner of Globe, Arizona; nephews, Mike Koop, Chris Koop and Brandon Koop, all of Bellingham; and five grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Gloria Barnes; and sister, Vivian Barnes. Jeff's Memorial will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019, 4:00 p.m. at Borst Park Kitchen 2, 2020 Borst Ave., Centralia, WA 98531 (I-5 Exit 82).
