Jeff Williams

WILLIAMS, Jeff, "Gum Drop", 80, of Tampa, passed away April 27, 2012. He was in the US Army for four years where his love of basketball began. He served his country proudly. He was an avid sportsman who attended FAMU and played basketball. He was outgoing and always smiling. He was a crossing guard who loved kids and spoiled them rotten with candy. He enjoyed making people laugh and loved to have fun, play dominoes and cards. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Haywood, Fred and Frank Williams; sister, Bertha Williams. He is survived by his loving & devoted wife, Mercedes; children, Jeffery Williams and his god-daughter, Sherri, Brenda Williams Beaupierre (Emanuel); seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews throughout the state of FL, Sarasota, Bradenton, Miami, Tampa, Ruskin, Palmetto; sister, Carrie Prince. Jeff was loved and will be missed. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Rebirth Baptist Church, 1924 E. Comanche Ave., Tampa, 33610 with a repast to follow at Central City YMCA, 110 East Palm Ave. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at Florida Mortuary Funeral Home. Interment will take place Tuesday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
