Leave a tribute

Jeff was born September 26, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa. He spent his early years there, before his family came to Western Washington in 1966. He left high school for a stint in Job Corp where he emerged a tradesman. Throughout his life Jeff derived great satisfaction from working with his hands. enjoying a challenge, and leaving a physical mark on the world. He worked in construction, remodeling, and facility maintenance for various employers. Each was an opportunity to learn new skills and hone his craft. Truly a jack-of-all-trades, he would say he "knew a little about alot, and a lot about a little." In 2004 Jeff fulfilled a life-long dream and went into business with a partner. By 2006 he branched out on his own with Anderson's Interior Remodeling. He was also an artisan who built amazing furniture in his home shop. Jeff had a brief first marriage to Kathy Desmond in the early 1980's. In 1997 he met the woman who became the love of his life, and on February 22, 2000, he married Mary Regan Fillbach. He added "bonus dad" to his resume as they raised three wonderful sons together. He was a loving husband and father, and his family meant the world to him. An avid outdoorsman, he was passionate about camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting--almost any reason to be close to nature. He loved the camaraderie of friends around a campfire, sharing a beer and outrageous stories. He was a connoisseur of classic country music and corny jokes. He had a big heart, loyal friends, and an easy infectious humor. Jeff will be greatly missed by many. He spent his final days at his home in Eatonville after a six- month battle with cancer. He died surrounded by his wife and children on January 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife Mary Regan Fillbach Anderson and three step-sons; Douglas Logan Fillbach and wife Alex of Ellensburg, WA; Kevin Michael Fillbach and Jason Christopher Fillbach both of Eatonville, WA. He leaves behind one granddaughter, Elsie Marie Fillbach, born to Kevin and Abby Potts just three months ago. Jeff was a devoted and caring son to Sherman Anderson of Forsythe, MO, and his beloved mother Shirley Englemann Fraidenburg Anderson, who preceded him in death. Jeff had three brothers; Sherman "Reed" Anderson of Kansas City, MO, Bret Lee Anderson of Auburn, WA, and William L Anderson of Auburn, WA. His one sister is Emily "Jeanne" Tarter who resides in Seattle. He leaves numerous aunts, uncles, a niece and nephew, each with children, and other extended family and friends who loved him. A small memorial and celebration of life will be held at the family home in accordance with his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Group Health Hospice.
