Jeff was born 5/2/80 and spent his early childhood in Lakewood. After moving to Puyallup he attended Aylen Jr high and Puyallup High School, class of '99. He played football there, but his passion was wrestling. he earned many awards in the So. Puget Sound League and Regional tournaments. He was proud to represent PHS as one of only two students to advance to the State 4A Wrestling Championships in the Tacoma Dome both in his Jr. and Sr. years. He loved the competition and was fierce on the mat!! After high school he worked with his dad Mike for several years remodeling homes and helped build his sister Adrienne’s first home. He also worked as a casual longshoreman for many years. On 7/18/15 Jeff was sworn in as a registered "B" Man for the Port of Tacoma. He loved being a longshoreman and member of the ILWU #23. Unfortunately his work there was interrupted that fall after a car accident left him in terrible pain with back and neck injuries which left him unable to work. Jeff loved camping all his life, starting at the ocean before he was one month old with his Mom and Dad & sister Adrienne. The American River and Penrose State Park were favorites even later with his Dad, step-mom Kelli, Adrienne & husband Michael. He also loved trips to Banks Lake with Mom Sue, John, Adrienne, step-sister Amy, step-brother Matt & Cousin Kevin. They water skied, tubed, fished and cliff jumped into the lake. He also had many great times water skiing & boarding with friends & family at Lake Louise, especially with his Uncle Joel Mathison. Jeff loved to travel! He took ski trips to Whistler & Montana with Dad, Kelli & Adrienne and visited his Mom & John twice in Arizona where they golfed, went to Sedona on a Pink Jeep Tour & visited the majestic Grand Canyon. He also took a few trips to Aruba with his good friends Tim & Emily Czerwonka & kids & had a fabulous time-loved it there! Tiffany Sheakley was Jeff's best friend and companion for many years. They shared an enormous love for the Seattle Seahawks, going to Washinton Beerfests, camping, and a passion for their dogs. They shared their love with many dogs over the years, spoiling them rotten and loving every minute of it! Jeffs longtime canine companion Pooter was his favorite of all and went to Tiffany in his will. Not only did she take in Pooter, she also took in his dog Scotch to keep them together. They often had the dogs nails painted navy blue & lime green during Football season. Jeff always wanted to go to Ireland, where his Dad was born, and thankfully he and Tiff went last summer and had a wonderful time. He even kissed the Blarney Stone! Jeff loved to cook and was darn good at it! Clam linguine, grilling & corned beef dinners were regulars but his specialty was prime rib. His family was all too happy to enjoy his yummy dinner invitations. Jeff was very close to his sister Adrienne & her husband Michael, spending countless good times together over the years. He loved their kids Ashton & Natalie and they had crazy fun with their Uncle Jeff. Their last time together was in June when they celebrated their 7th and 4th birthday with him. He came over and gave Ashton his childhood Lego collection, gave Natalie a pretty dress and took them out for ice cream. Jeff had great memories with his special Aunt Nancy & Uncle Jerry Wood. They didn't have children and treated him almost like their own. Jerry helped Jeff get into long shoring and he always really loved them. He loved his Grandma Marge Bailey (98) and Grandma Anna Preston (91) and kept in touch with them. He enjoyed Taco Tuesday's with his Uncle Mike Preston, visits with his Aunt Peggy Myer & Cousin Kevin Brewer, and visits with Uncle Al and Aunt Ann Bailey and his cousins Katie, Jessica, Kelly & Matt. He drove over to W. Richland to visit them for a weekend and they all had so much fun that he stayed 3 weeks, much to their delight! Jeff loved and looked up to his step-brother Matt Pike and his step-sister Amy, Tom, Tyler, Maddie & Jensen Elsemore. Jeff was a kind, giving and wonderful person. We all wish we could have helped take away his pain and severe depression, but it was not to be. We will all love and miss him and his beautiful smile forever. Rest in Peace Jeff. Memorial Service to be held Monday 8-14-17 at 3pm at Edwards Lakewood Memorial Chapel 11020 S Tacoma Way Lakewood, WA. 98499
