Jeffery passed away on May 7, 2022, at San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California with the of his life Laura of 17 years by side. Jeffery was loved & admired by many far & wide. He had an infectious laugh, personality, always cracking jokes & was known to many as “Gentleman Jeff”, but his favorite name was Grandpa. Jeffery lived a long-fulfilled life as he played football at Linwood High School (1977), served in the United States Army from 1979 – 1983 as a helicopter pilot, a 911 dispatcher for 5 years, helicopter pilot for CalFire for 25 years & a transit driver/driver trainer for El Dorado Transit for 15 years before retiring 2020. Jefferey was a member of EVC clampers for may years and even served as an investigator of the organization. Jeff enjoyed camping, shooting canons, drinking wine, grilling on his barbeque, going on adventures, spending time with his grandchildren with laura & teaching his grandchildren to swim. His favorite slogan to say is “this is bullshit”. Jeffery was a mountain man for many years who was a creature of habit until he met the love of his life, Laura in 2005. Jeffery did not have biological children but was able to experience being a grandfather to 6 grandchildren Landon (13 yrs. Indiana ), Bella (11 yrs. Indiana), Jamee (8 yrs. Montana), Jaxx (6 yrs. Indiana), Dennis (2 yrs. Montana) & Austin (1 yr. Idaho) through his partner Laura of 17 years. His grandchildren meant the world to him as they opened his world to many things, he at one time did not think he would get to enjoy. Jeffery looked forward to summers when his grandchildren would come visit. Jeffery is proceeded in death by his mother Lucy Means (Fricano), Father William Means Sr., & Brother William “Billy” Means Jr. Jeffery is survived by his sister, Lisa Means of Chandler, Arizona, nephew Brett Nesbit (United States Navy), nieces Britany Nesbit of Hawaii, & Sidney of Huntington Beach, CA, Billy Means II of Vacaville, CA, Uncle Richard Means of South Gate, CA, his long-time love of 17 years, Laura Blevins of Sacramento, Laura’s children Dennis Blevins (Spouse Whisper Miller) of Billings, Montana, Stephanie Bloyd (Spouse Timothy) of Lafayette, Indiana, & Katie Anchustequi (Spouse Michael) of Nampa, Idaho.
