Jeffrey Alan Mast
November 5th, 1949 - September 8th, 2013
Jeffrey Alan Mast, 63, of Chico, California, passed away Sunday, September 8th. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 14th at City Light Church, 3015 Cohasset Road, Chico, California. There will also be a gathering of family and friends at the family farm at 12239 Andy Mountain Rd. Oroville, Ca. 95965. Jeff was born November 5th, 1949 in Fresno, California, to Dennis and Marion Mast. He is survived by his mother Marion Mast, his sister Nina Mast, and brother Steve Mast. He is also survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandy Mast, their three children; daughters Sarah Mast and Kassie Davis, and son Matthew Mast, as well as three granddaughters; Thea, Mara, and Tenley. Jeff graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a BA in Biblical Studies and Contemporary Christian Ministries, and was an ordained minister with the Evangelical Christian Alliance. Jeff spent most of his career working with the cities of Fresno and Santa Cruz as a supervisor and construction specialist. But Jeff’s real passion was being a part of his faith community, and loving and serving others. Jeff gave of himself tirelessly, whether it was working on projects for family and friends or building wells in Africa or homes in Guatemala or giving away all of the fantastic fruit from the family farm. Since retiring, Jeff found his greatest joy in loving and serving others. As an elder at City Light Church he was the embodiment of what it means to love. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him. However, those who are part of his faith community know that he is now experiencing great joy, peace, and rest. We will see him again in heaven, and will carry his spirit with us always. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations may be made to City Light Church at P.O. Box 9199 Chico, California, 95927 or to Feeding the Nations organization at www.feedingnations.org on behalf of Jeff. A separate celebration of life will be hosted by Nina Mast and Butch Benjamin on Saturday October the 5th in Clovis.
