Jeffrey Pond

“Jeff Pond was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 28, 1943. His parents, John A. and Barbara Curtis Pond and his older brother Robert A. Pond preceded him in death. Jeff lived in New England and his family moved to Chicago where Jeff’s dad worked at the University of Chicago and on the Manhattan Project. The family later moved to Boulder, Colorado where Jeff lived through his junior year in high school. When his father accepted a job at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO, Jeff moved and graduated from high school in 1961. In Liberty, he was a storied athlete and scholar, achieving near perfect SAT scores as well as being an All State Quarterback. He was offered many athletic scholarships, but elected to attend Yale University. At Yale he played football and lacrosse, was tapped to Skull and Bones and graduated with honors in 1965. Jeff entered Harvard Law School in 1965 and graduated in 1968. He passed the bar in 1968 and practiced law in Denver until the time of his death. (In his last days, one of his nurses introduced him to someone as her attorney. Quick-witted to the end, he quickly told her, “Don’t say another word.
