Jeffrey Louis Romey

Jeff L. Romey lived in Longmont, Colorado. He passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017 at his home. He was 61 years old. He was born in Carroll, Iowa on January 11, 1956 and lived on a farm until his family moved to Longmont in 1968. He was a country boy at heart. Jeff believed in the Lord, had a generous heart and a soft spot for animals. He was kind, truly gracious, proud and had a wonderful sense of humor. In addition he was very compassionate, empathetic and was a great listener. He loved to garden and work in his yard. When Jeff was younger he liked to dance to country music. Jeff will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His friends were always willing to help him with whatever he needed done and couldn’t do due to declining health in recent years. Jeff was a brick mason as a young man and was meticulous and took great pride in his work. Like his father he was a very hard worker. After he could no longer lay brick he became a painter until approximately five years ago. He is preceded in death by his parents – Melvin and Dorothy Romey, brother Craig, nephew Kyle Metcalf and his beloved dogs Ruger and Niki. Jeff is survived by his siblings, Mark (Karen), Mary (Joe) , David (Deb) , Diane (Larry) , Janice, John (Mary), numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. The service will be Friday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at Mc Carthy's Pub, 30 south Main Street in Longmont at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. John the Baptist Food Bank or Longmont Humane Society.
