Jeffrey B. Skipton
November 23rd, 1958 - February 14th, 2020
Jeffrey B. Skipton, 61, of Granby, passed away February 14, 2020 after a heroic battle with a very aggressive form of ALS. He faced this battle with great courage and incredible determination. He was born on November 23, 1958 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Bruce and Harriet (Close) Skipton. Jeffrey previously worked as a project manager for Alstom Power and GE before retiring. He loved to ski and was a member of the Alpine Club in Stowe, Vt. and a member of the National Ski Patrol for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of two golf courses in Stowe Vt. as well as a member of The Orchards Golf Club. He enjoyed hiking and cycling, and he participated for many years in The Pan Mass Challenge. He loved working on the family property, Hawks' Hill Farm and knew how to fix everything. Jeffrey will be forever missed by his wife, Joy (Wilson) Skipton. He also leaves behind, two sons, Matthew J. Skipton and daughter Marley and Ryan M. Skipton, wife Michelle and their son Ashford. He is also survived by his sister Ginger Wilson and her husband Scott, niece Sarah Wilson and her children Seth and Rory Guzik and nephew Phil Wilson, wife Meg Wilson, and their children Sophie and Parker Wilson. A memorial service will be held on February 29th at 11:00 at the Beers and Story Funeral Home in South Hadley. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeffrey's name to the ALS Association, Massachusetts Chapter at 685 Canton Street #103, Norwood, MA 02062, or to the Team Gleason Foundation P. O. Box 24493, New Orleans, LA 70184.
