Anton Jerome, Jerry to his loved ones and friends was born September 2, 1941, in Rugby, North Dakota. Jerry was one of 15 brothers and sisters.  The Voller family lived on their farm in Minot, North Dakota.  It was on the farm that Jerry learned the value of hard work and honesty and developed his love for physical, outdoor work.  Jerry had stories to tell of his 8 siblings from his dad, Anton’s first marriage to his mother, Elizabeth Geisenger, as well as his 6 siblings from Anton’s second marriage to his step-mom, Rosa Wetzstein.

Jerry left North Dakota, making his way to Oregon, where he met his love, Virginia “Ginny”.  Ginny was a package deal with six children, Delynn, Christina, Patty, Jim, Kitty and Mickey.  Jerry and Ginny were married on June 12, 1964.  The family moved to Idaho in 1969 and Tony came along in 1970. Jerry spent the rest of his life living in the Boise area.

Most of his working life, Jerry was a roofer.  Known to many of his co-workers as Scrooge, some would not repeat what they called him when they saw him clambering onto the roof, with arms flopping as he screamed “can you hear me now?”  Ginny would never work for him, saying “he is too hard to work for”, “If he lives to be one hundred, he will probably still be roofing… if he can get anyone to hold the ladder for him.”  Although he did retire from roofing, he would occasionally take side roofing jobs well into his 70’s.  After retiring, Jerry could not sit still so he volunteered to work at the Salvation Army which eventually turned into a part-time job that led to a full-time job and eventually working for the Salvation Army Food Bank which was one of his great joys.

One of Jerry’s greatest challenges was the illness of his beloved Ginny.  As Ginny’s health declined, the impatient, stubborn and strong-willed Jerry became more patient, kinder and gentler as he cared for her.

Jerry loved reading, The Idaho Press Tribune, Louis L’ Amour, Michael Connelly and too many others to mention.  Gardening and pampering plants was another area his true nurturing character revealed itself.  BSU Football and traveling to visit family were other activities he enjoyed.  He especially enjoyed going to Oregon, California, North Dakota and Texas.

Jerry is survived by his children: Patty Kirk (Sam), Jim Hoffman, Kitty Hoffman, Mickey Hoffman and Tony Voller (Loretta); his grandchildren: Tami Kimball, Erik Endecott, Echo Hoffman, Dawn Echols, Megan Brunette, John Marsh, Dusty Marsh, Michael Hoffman Jr, Ana Davila, Elijah Voller and Christian Voller.  Jerry is also survived by his siblings: Agnes Brandt, Albert Samuel, Clarence Samuel and George Voller.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Anton Voller and Elizabeth Geisenger Voller; stepmother Rosa Wetzstein; wife, Ginny Cole Voller; children: Delynn, and Christina; grandson, Ryan Olsen; siblings: Nick Voller, Joseph Voller, Leo Voller, Raymond Voller, Michael Voller, Daniel Peter Voller, William Voller; step-sisters: Clara Harvey, Rose-Marie Rawlinson and Delores Esteves. Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
