Jeromie (Jerry) Lou Westerling, 45, a Las Vegas resident, died Friday November 27 in St. Rose hospital, San Martin Campus. Jerry was born in Troy, Ohio to Jim Lorentz Westerling and Jacalyn Sue Westerling (Schmidt) on October 5, 1970. He attended Miami East High School and graduated in 1989. In 1998 Jerry left behind the cold winters of Ohio to follow his dream of working on huge interesting buildings in Las Vegas. Jerry specialized in unique ceiling designs. Some of his work can be seen at Mandalay Bay, the Luxor, Caesars Palace, the Venetian and the Wynn. Jerry was a member of the Carpenter's Union, and worked for the George M. Raymond Company as a general foreman/supervisor. He was working on a project at Universal in California in July when he got sick and was later diagnosed with lung cancer. Jerry was a huge NASCAR fan and a loyal Dallas Cowboys follower. He enjoyed spending time with his Las Vegas family, Ricky Lopez, his wife Stacy and their daughters. Jerry is survived by his mother Jacalyn Schmidt and husband Christopher of The Villages, Florida, his sister Jennifer Westerling and her children Jerzy Westerling, Jason Davis Jr., & Kiersten Bowser of Sidney, Ohio and his brother Kevin Schmidt of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father Jim Westerling. Even though Jerry is no longer with us, he will forever be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held in Troy, Ohio in January.

🕯️ Most of my memories are from when we were younger. Strangely I remember playing Don't Break the Ice in your room at your house in St Paris. I always enjoyed seeing you when you came home for the holidays - it made Grandmommy so happy to have you home. Thank you for being like a brother to mine and thank you for all you did for Uncle Jeff.
