Mr. Almond, 52, a native Charlottean died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Peak Resources of Charlotte. Jerry was born March 2, 1961, to Horace Almond and the late Mary Shephard Almond. He was a kind and gentle man and always had a smile for everyone. Surviving in addition to his father are his brothers, Timothy Almond and wife, Michelle and Kenneth Almond and wife, Brenda; sister, Sandra Thorpe and husband, Rusty; uncle, Coy Almond and wife, Jean; Aunts, Hazel McLaurin and husband, Amos and Joyce Burris and husband, Jimmy; nieces, Jenny and Penny Almond, Wendy Freeman and Rhonda Harris; nephews, Jason and Ken Almond, Lee Freeman and Frankie Harris. Funeral service for Mr. Almond will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
