Mementos

We lost a devoted Husband, great Father, pride-filled Grandpa and a big hearted Uncle on November 7, 2010. Jerry was born in Iowa but, grew up in Fremont, Nebraska and graduated from Fremont High School in 1956. Jerry always remained a true Cornhusker at heart. After 4 years in the Air Force, he made a career in the trucking and moving industry. Being a long haul Truck Driver brought him to Seattle where he met and married Grace in 1968. They moved to Lakewood and became active in the local area. After being on the road for many years he decided to stay closer to home and became the owner of Cartwright Movers of Tacoma. Upon closure of Cartwright Movers, he remained in the trucking and moving industry working for Mountain Moving and Storage until the young age of 70. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Doris Bennett, only Brother Don Bennett and wife of 40 years Grace. Keeping his smile in our hearts are his daughters Alisa Dillon (Jim) & Becky Cleary (Michael), Grandchildren Brian (Jen), Brittany and M'lis, Nephew's Ray Bennett (Sue), Niece Charisa Voss (Tim) and long time friend Don Kendall (Cheryl) and many more friends. Jerry will be dearly missed. Memorial Service will be held at Life Center 1717 S. Union, Tacoma, WA on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Reception to follow. Donations can be made to The American Heart Association.
