Jerry Kent Brown

April 17th, 1953 - April 21st, 2024

Jerry Kent Brown joined our Heavenly Father on April 21, 2024.

He was born on April 17, 1953 in Akron, Colorado to Peurlie and Lovernne (Young) Brown.

He spent his formative years in the eastern plains of Colorado, attending Akron High School, where he formed lifelong friendships that he cherished dearly.

After graduating auto body school, Jerry remained rooted in the region, performing vehicle repair, later working on farms, and cultivating a deep connection to the land. He married his high school sweetheart, Farrell Denman, with whom he had two children, Joshua Michael and Amy Layne. In 1984 Jerry met Ann Mohorcich, with whom he found his soul mate and married. Later in life Jerry and wife Ann moved to Loveland, Colorado where he followed in his father’s footsteps as an exceptional meat cutter.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Jerry found solace in camping, fishing, and hunting, immersing himself in the beauty of nature that he so deeply appreciated. With a background in agriculture, Jerry’s heart was always on the farm, where he felt most at home.

Jerry was a faithful Christian, embodying his beliefs through his actions and devotion to the Lord and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Ann Brown; son, Joshua (Jill) Brown; grandchildren, Jayden Brown, Jordan Brown and Kilayne (Arin) Toussaint; great-grandchild EmaleighToussaint; sister, Charlotte (Terry) Sherman and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Peurlie Brown; mother, Lovernne Brown; daughter, Amy Brown; brothers, Elton Brown; Gary Brown; nephew, Jeffrey Sherman; and niece, Angie Wells.

My husband was happiest with an espresso in hand, his cowboy hat on, a dog trailing behind him at the pond while camping or fishing, baiting lines for the kids or baking his mothers favorite cinnamon rolls or cooking up a mean green chili stew! I for one will miss him in the kitchen!

I loved my brother-in-law JB. For 40 years he treated me like a sister, kind, loving, generous, funny, amazing cook/baker, and fun to camp with. His stories were always entertaining. He always opened up his home to whomever wanted to visit. His love of animals was endless. He is going to be so missed. Love you always Jerry Brown.
