Jerry D Gile
January 17th, 1948 - November 18th, 2013
Jerrel “Jerry” D. Gile passed away in his loving home on November 18th, 2013. Born in Santa Monica California, Jerry spent most of his life in the Seattle area, where he settled after meeting his soul mate Sally, in Kailua, HI. Jerry served in the United States Air force from 1968 to 1972 as a photo interpreter. His love of technology and mathematical aptitude afforded him a position he enjoyed, in a location many, many people would have wanted to live: Honolulu, Hawaii. It was in this beautiful setting that he met the love of his life, Sally. Jerry and Sally spent a few wonderful years on the island of Oahu, and then moved back to California, where they had a daughter, Jessica. While working for Viking Freight (subsequently purchased by FedEx Freight), Jerry was transferred to the Seattle, WA location where he settled, and had a son, Scott. Jerry was an adoring father and was very proud of his two children. He was a loyal and loving friend and family man, and was passionate about golf. He retired early and spent the last years of his life traveling to Hawaii with his family, golfing with his great friends and cousin, and spending time with his beloved dog, Kona. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 2nd, from 3:00 PM until 4:15 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn: http://www.auburnwa.gov/services/cemetery/driving_directions.htm. Memorial donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the American Lung Association: http://www.lung.org/associations/charters/midland-states/ways-to-donate/individual-giving/
