Jerry L. Portman

Jerry Portman, 80, died March 17, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona Jerry was born on November 24, 1935 to Joe and Johnie Mae Portman. He received his BS degree from Southeastern University and his Masters from Oklahoma State University. While working on his Doctorate at Purdue, he was recruited by IBM where he spent his entire career. He was a brilliant man who liked to keep busy with puzzles of all sorts. He also loved to dance and hike. He will be greatly missed by his partner, Adah Sztan of Tucson, AZ, his children, Brian Portman of Tulsa, OK and Beth Johnston of Hagerstown, MD and his siblings, Dolores Kiser of Durant, OK and Mark Portman of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Timmons of Durant, OK. His family will celebrate his life at a private gathering in Durant, Oklahoma.
