Jerry E. Powell, 77, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Palms Of Pasadena Hospital under the care of The Hospice Of The Florida Suncoast. He was born in Hartford City, IN and moved to St. Petersburg in 1951 from Muncie, IN and was a professional Bass Fiddle player until 1955. He was a sales representative for Cameron and Barkley Company in Tampa and retired in 1989. He was a member of Fifth Ave. Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was formerly a Sunday School teacher in the 15-year-old boys class. He was a former member of Central Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and an usher. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and was an Army veteran of WW II. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Florine; and one sister, Martha Wall of Muncie, IN.
