Jerry A. Powers of Golden, CO passed away peacefully at home Tuesday morning 28 February 2017 with his loving family present for this journey. Jerry was a founding member of Pi Sigma Alpha at the University of Evansville. He is also a 32nd Degree Mason and an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force. Jerry is survived by his son, Kreager R. (Robbin) Powers of Golden, CO; daughters, Krissta D. (Todd) Kabalan of Haughton, Louisiana and Katrissa K. (Eric) Gates of Golden, CO; and former wife & caretaker, Akiko Stargell of Golden, CO; brother, Earl H. Powers of Newburg, IN; sisters, Wanda S. Conway of Elkhart, IN and Rosemary (Jerry) Moyes of Clarksville, IN, Michael (Chris) Powers of Evanville, IN. Jerry has 5 grandchildren, Cherilyn, Seannalea, Karamia, Kristofer, & Kameron and 5 great-grandchildren, Rayce, Jaxon, Kyler, Liam, & Piper. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie E. and Mabel E. Hobbs Powers and sister, Beverly (Richard) J. Boling of Indiana and Linda (Jim) Rieck of St. Louis, Missouri. The family would like to thank the following dedicated and passionate individuals for their support and assistance: The nursing and palliative teams at Suncrest Hospice and Home Based Primary Care, Department of Veterans Affairs.
