Jerry Kenneth Rouse
July 11, 1941 – April 25, 2024
Jerry was born in Denver to Kenneth & Lucille (Wagner) Rouse. He grew up on the family farm in Englewood, Colorado where he attended Cherry Creek High School, graduating in 1959.
Post graduation, he worked in construction for a short time. He then moved on to working at a family-owned canning factory (K&R Foods) for 3 years. Jerry met his future wife (Jean Kennedy) while still working at the factory and participating in rodeo. Jerry and Jean got married March 3, 1962.
Jerry always had a passion for farming and went into business with his father in Englewood in 1963. They had a daughter Juli in 1964 and a son Cody in 1965. In 1971 they decided to move their family to Nunn Colorado to pursue their passion for farming.
After establishing roots in Nunn, they continued to farm and raise their family. Over the years Jerry loved playing recreational sports such as softball, volleyball, and basketball. He continued to play well into his seventies. Along with playing recreational sports he also coached The Nunn Merchants Women's Slow Pitch Softball Team for several years. His other hobbies included riding horses, hunting, fishing, and fast cars. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Pierce, Colorado.
Jerry’s family was very important to him. He never missed a family function, whether it was sports, melodramas, or any other activity his family was involved in.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years Jean, daughter Juli (Todd), son Cody (Sherri), grandson Clayton (Jamie), grandson Cole, great granddaughter Swayzee Mae, great grandson Rhett Kai, sister-in-law Barbara Coons (Dave), and sister-in-law Patricia Long (Rodger).
