Jerry Lynn Shorter

Jerry Lynn Shorter passed away May 6th, 2019 in Greeley, CO. He was born in Johnson City Tennessee to Nessie Preston Shorter and Rosa Marinelli Shorter on July 30th, 1954. In July 1994 he met the love of his life Loy Jeanne Wilkinson, with a son from a previous marriage Matt, they married on February 29th, 1996. Jerry had 8 siblings and moved to Glen Burnie, MD a suburb of Baltimore. He attended Andover High School and became a truck driver. Traveling all over the US he made sure to visit home often, always the spark of any gathering. On December 13th, 1997 Loy and Jerry welcomed a baby girl to their lives Kara Rose Shorter in Greeley, Colorado. After learning of a family illness Jerry and Loy moved back to Maryland to help his mother Rose. Eventually he settled back in Colorado where Jerry drove mail for the USPS as a contractor. Jerry is survived by his Wife Loy, Daughter Kara, and Stepson Matthew, In-laws Hillbilly Jim (Karen), Deb Siblings; George (Stephanie) and Pup (Bunny), Linda, Iva, Trisha, Rosie (Bill), and Karen, Nephews; George (Coondog), Chris (Poodle), Palmer, Gavin, John John, Ryan, Charlie Nieces; Dawn (Salt), Trina (7ft Knoll), Dana, Mandy, Candice, Sydney, Buffy, Jamie, Michelle, Brittany (Ben), Vicki. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; Nessie Preston Shorter, Rosa Marinelli Shorter. Brother, John Joseph Shorter and nephew Joey Disney. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Northern Colorado Crematory 700 8th Street, Greeley, Colorado.
