JERRY RONALD SOUTHAM, age 74, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2018. Jerry was born January 13, 1944 in Chico, CA.; the youngest son of Romaine and Luella Southam. He went to school in Princeton, CA. He attended Chico State until he decided to return home to farm for the next 55 years. He farmed rice, prunes, alfalfa, wheat, and walnuts. Jerry loved the outdoors; waterskiing, snowmobiling, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He also loved family gatherings and family sporting events. Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carole (Lewis) Southam; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Kirsten Southam and Matt and Eva-Lis Southam; Five grandchildren: Garett, Ryley, Hayden, Savannah, and Braeden. Siblings: Tom and Helen Southam, Sharren Nagy, and Barbara Rice; and many loved nieces and nephews. Memorial donations can be sent to: Durham Ag Boosters, P.O. Box 977, Durham, CA 95938 or to your favorite charity. A Visitation Time at Brusie Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 5 PM to 8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11 AM at Neighborhood Church Chico, 2801 Notre Dame Blvd. Graveside Services will follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, 11115 Midway (and Hegan Ln), Chico, CA.
