Jerry Lee Straszheim
August 11th, 1936 - December 31st, 2022
Reverend Jerry L. Straszheim of St. Petersburg, FL passed away December, 31, 2022. He was born and raised in Eaton, Ohio. He was a graduate of Ohio State University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary. Jerry was an ELCA pastor at different churches during his life. He was the founding Pastor at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Atlanta, GA, and Lutheran Ministry in Christ in Coral Springs, Florida. He then moved to St. Petersburg to become a pastor at Lutheran Church of the Cross. After 38 years he retired but continued as an interim pastor at different churches in the St. Pete area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Gladys Straszheim and his brother Gene Straszheim. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Connie, his children: Joni (Rick) Moore of North Carolina, Joel Straszheim of Florida, and Veronica (Bee) Straszheim of MA; his sister in law Mary Straszheim and nephew Mark (Katie)Straszheim, niece Kay (James) Stephen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristen Moore, Rick Moore, and Victoria Straszheim. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to: St. Luke Lutheran Church, 3264 Northside Pkwy. Atlanta, GA 30327 Lutheran Ministry in Christ (AKA Christs Church), 10021 W. Sample Rd, Coral Springs, FL 33065 Lutheran Church of the Cross, 4545 Chancellor St., NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33703 His Cremains will be interred at Mound Hill Cemetary in Eaton Ohio. Memorial Service will be at: Lutheran Church of the cross 4545 Chancellor Street NE St. Petersburg, Florida 33703 January 14, 2023 at 11:00 am
