Jesikka Ann McKinney

Jesikka Ann McKinney, 36 passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was born May 8, 1988, on Mother's Day to John Wesley McKinney, Jr and Julia Katherine Simpson in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Jesikka was the creator of Haunted Kentucky, a Facebook group for Kentuckians who are interested in the paranormal and sharing their paranormal experiences, which has grown to have more than 17,000 members.  

In addition to her wife, Brittany Flinchum of Hazel Green and her parents, Wes McKinney and Julia Simpson of Hazel Green, Jesikka is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Myhre of Tennessee and Brandi Frymyer of Texas; her brothers, Robert McKinney of Hazel Green, Jeremy McKinney of Hazel Green, and Cyrus Stinson of Florida; her grandparents Jim and Barbara Turpin of Frankfort, Tommy and Debbie Simpson of Richmond; her aunts and uncles Kevin and Karen Cosby of Anderson County and Rosanna Simpson of Ohio; Tinker and April Simpson of Mercer County, and Travis Simpson of Richmond; and her fur babies, Cosmo and Forest; numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents John McKinney, and Larry and Shirley Sharpe; and her stepmother Rhonda McKinney; her aunt Candy Simpson and cousin Samantha Bice.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00p, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Pastor Violet Combs officiating. Burial will follow at the McKinney Farm in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Robert McKinney, Jeremy McKinney, Crockett Cosby, Tommy Simpson, Tinker Simpson, Travis Simpson, Robert Flinchum, and OC Smith will serve as Pallbearers. A Visitation will be held from 11:00a until the time of service on Thursday, at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
