Jess "Mike" Michael Branham
February 18th, 1944 - July 31st, 2020
On July 31, 2020, Jess Michael “Mike” Branham of Lexington, SC, passed away. Born in Columbia, SC, on February 18, 1944, Mike was the eldest son of Jess Clyde “J.C.” and Marjorie Buchanan “Margie” Branham of Blythewood, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Susan Derrenbacher Branham, and his parents. Mike was an aviator at heart even as a child. He trained at Memphis Naval Air Station in the early years during his time in the US Navy. He was eventually stationed at Naval Station Argentia in Newfoundland, Canada. He and Susan started their life together in Canada and ended up in Lexington, SC, working for Delta Airlines, after brief stints in Savannah, GA, and Raleigh, NC. Mike retired from Delta Airlines after 31 years of service. He is survived by his daughters, Angie (Mark) Busbee and Andrea Branham; his 4 grandchildren; and a very special lady, Jackie Derrick. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 4, 2020, at Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1577 Old State Road, Gaston, SC.
