Venable, Jesse (Jay) S. 73, of Tierra Verde, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 10, 2014. Jay was born in Indiana, spent much of his life in Kansas and had resided in Tierra Verde since 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Jay served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, and had a passion for skydiving, even taking the risk of using one of the first ever rectangular parachutes. He also enjoyed treasure hunting, photography, helping those less fortunate, and thinking outside the box. He was a creative entrepreneur and developed a patented roofing system that is still in wide use today. That was one of the many useful things he accomplished that has made our world a better place. He is survived by two daughters, Tamme (Venable) Buller (husband, Eric), Christine Venable (partner, Grace Clements), two grandchildren, Bryson and Brianna Buller, two great grandchildren, Riley and Zoey Buller, a great nephew and several nieces and brothers. Jay was also legal guardian for (niece) Candace Reed. Private services will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
