" Dont Worry About It . . . " -Jessica K. Mattos

Jessica "Jess" Ann Kauiokalani Mattos With hearts filled with immense sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Jessica "Jess" Ann Kauiokalani Mattos, who peacefully departed from this world on May 9, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona, just shy of her 57th birthday. Born on May 11, 1967, in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jess lived a life defined by dedication, love, and unwavering compassion for others.

Jess's journey began with her passion for nursing, which she pursued with fervor. She earned her nursing degree from Brookline College and became a Certified Caregiver. For over 20 years, Jess worked privately, providing care to elderly couples, ensuring that they could transition peacefully and with dignity in their final moments. Her career achievements are marked by the countless lives she touched and the serene comfort she provided to those in need.

Those who knew Jess were often struck by her ability to be both intimidating and incredibly welcoming. Her kind, generous, funny, loyal, and honest nature was evident in every interaction. She had a rare gift—she could make you feel at home, no matter where you were or what you were going through. Jess’s love for taking care of others was not just her profession but her calling.

Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Nevaeh K. Hoaeae-Modicue-Casiano. Jess treasured every moment with her, leaving behind a legacy of love and deeply cherished memories. Though she did not wish for a grand ceremony, Jess's life and contributions will be forever celebrated in the hearts of those who knew her. She is deeply mourned by her daughters, Brandi K. Mattos and Brie M. Hoaeae, and her cherished granddaughter.

In accordance with Jess’s wishes, she will be cremated, and the family respects her desire for a simple memorial. Jessica "Jess" Ann Kauiokalani Mattos leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and an inspirational dedication to caring for others—a legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew and loved her.

If you wish to express your condolences or share memories of Jess, please contact Brandi K. Mattos or Brie M. Hoaeae at 520-248-3097. Let us honor her memory by embodying the generosity, loyalty, and love that she exemplified every day of her life. Rest in peace, Mom. Your spirit and love will continue to guide us always.
