Jesus Jessie Dumo, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was born and raised in Bauang, La Union, Philippines, by Basilio Dumo and Emeteria Corpuz. Jesus was a WWII Staff Sargent veteran in the US Army, where he received a medal for exceptionally meritorious performance of outstanding service from Gen. Douglas MacArthur. After the war, Jesus went on to acquire a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts and became a teacher at Don Mariano Marcos State University (DMMSU, formerly LUSAT). He was an excellent teacher and a respected educator, receiving an Outstanding Vocational Teacher Award from the Philippines Department of Education and Culture. After retiring from teaching, Jesus immigrated to the US where he continued working, until he retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital. Jessie loved to keep himself busy by creating ceramic arts and potteries. Jesus is survived by his wife Antonia (Tonie) with whom he had two children, Richard and Myrna.
