Jesus Barroso SR
January 25th, 1943 - November 20th, 2012
Jesus Barroso Sr, 69, of Marsing, finished his journey here on earth Tuesday, November 20, 2012. He was born in Mercedez, Texas on January 25, 1943 to Pedro and Genoveva Barroso, the fifth of eight children. His family migrated to Idaho every season to work in the fields. During the 1962 he met Dominga Ramirez through his sister Ignacia and they were married August 29, 1964. In 1970 they decided to stay and make Marsing, Idaho their home. Our dad took pride working for David Chapier of Marsing driving harvest trucks and plowing the fields in the tractor. Our dad’s life was always filled with music. He formed a Tejano Band in 1982-1991 with his sons and brother called “Los Nuevos”. They played at weddings, quincineras and as my dad would say even divorces, LOL. He had arranged a few songs for Tejano artists from Texas including his brother-in-law Giberto Perez. Our father was a loving father that raised his children to respect other and was not afraid to discipline his children if we needed it. Dad loved watching his sports especially the Cowboys and BSU football. He especially liked his bragging rights of Shea McClellin coming from a small town like Marsing and going pro. Dad did not like going to funerals and said if he could he would skip his too. To celebrate dad’s life we are asking his friends to wear any sports jerseys instead of black for the viewing on Sunday. Anything you wish except the 49ers and the Idaho Vandals, he really did not like those teams. Jesus is survived by his wife of 48 years Dominga Barroso, children: Jesus Jr. (Aida), Traque (Rosa), Becky (Pat), Rachel (Mike), Roel; one brother: Manuel Barroso of Marsing and five sisters from Texas. Ten granddaughters, 4 grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, and sister-in-law San Juana of Caldwell; and his best friend, his dog Fea, AKA: the ugly one. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pedro and Genoveva Barroso, great-granddaughter Brianna, sister, Irina Reys, great-grandson, Tyrell. A rosary will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012, 7:00PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with viewing starting at 6:00PM. Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 26, 2012, 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell with graveside service to follow at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery.
