March 21st, 1924 - November 14th, 2011
Jesus Vasquez,87, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on November 14, 2011 at home. He was born on March 21, 1924 in Arandes, Jalisco, Mexico. He previously worked in agriculture as a field laborer for over 40 years. Jesus always had his children and grandchildren around him almost every weekend. He loved to have BBQ's with everyone and especially listen to music. He always extended a helping hand to those that would ask for it. He will remain in our hearts and minds forever. He is survived by his wife, Maria Vasquez of Salinas daughters, Juanita Vasquez of Salinas Maria de los Angeles (Francisco) Hernandez of Mexico Abigail (Miguel) Romero of Greenfield Norma Lorena (Jaime) Hernandez of Salinas sons, Martin (Leticia) Vasquez of Salinas Guadalupe (Olga) Vasquez of Castroville Salvador (Maria Elena) Vasquez of Salinas Francisco Javier (Soledad) Vasquez of Salinas brother, Domingo Vasquez of Salinas 29 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives also survive. He is preceded in death by his sons, Reynaldo Vasquez and Jose Trinidad Vasquez siblings, Carmen, Eusebia, Eleodoro, Salvador, Sara and Guadalupe. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 1-9pm with a Rosary recital at 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, November 18, 2011 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church 424 Towt St. Salinas CA 93905. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
