Warner Robins, GA: TSGT Jewell O. Layman, USAF Ret. 73, passed away Friday, December 23, 2005. Services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2005 in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Monday evening. Mr. Layman was born in Littlerock, CA to the late William Hudson Layman and Nannie Martin. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Ella Ruth Layman and two brothers Ray and George Layman. Mr. Layman was retired from the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam conflict. While serving a brief enlistment with the U.S. Navy, Mr. Layman also served in the Korean conflict. Mr. Layman was a member of the Second Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher of the sixth grade boys class. Survivors include his wife Faye Witherington Layman of Warner Robins, daughters Penni Mike Murr of Kathleen, Lisa Bill Douglas of Bishop, GA, Sherri Williams of Layton, Utah, Bryan Donna Layman of Milledgeville, Brenda Ricky Churchwell of Cochran, Sherry Lynn Steve Grogan of Stephens, GA, sons Joel Cristina Layman of Oklahoma City, OK and Joshua Layman of Warner Robins, brother William J. Layman of Chattanooga, TN, 15 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Lung Association at 2788 Riverside Dr., Macon, GA, 31204 in memory of Mr. Layman. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
