Jewell (Hicks) Little age 91 years 8 months died Jan 4, 2015 at Mapleton Care Center, Lakewood, Co Born April 18, 1923 to the late Freddie and Grace Hicks, Broughton, Illinois Married William Harold Little, Jan 02, 1941 Jewell is survived by: Sister Elizabeth (Hicks) Shelton, Terra Haute, IN and Brother Freddie Hicks, Jr., Prescott Valley, AZ; Sons Richard Leon and Wife Susan of Nathrop, Colorado; Ronald and Wife Carol J of Catasauqua, PA 5 grandchildren - Stephen R. Little of Colorado Springs, CO; John B. Little of Hillsboro, OR, Christine (Little) Jones of Northampton, PA; David R. Little of Fort Bragg, NC, and Corry Little of Terra Haute, IN; 7 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews - too numerous to count. Jewell was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 64 years, her parents, 2 Sisters Anna (Hicks) Huffstuttler and Rose (Hicks) Austin both of McLeansboro, IL and; Sons William Harold Little, Jr. {USAF - Okinawa); and Donald Little also of McLeansboro, IL; and 2 grandsons Scott T. Little of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Craig B. Little of Gibson City, IL. Jewell loved playing bingo, doing word search puzzles, and reading. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Throughout her adult life Jewell never met a stranger and happily spoke with everyone she met. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday January 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Salida, 228 E. 4th St, Salida, Co 81201, [719-539-2755] with the Pastor Rhonda Pinske, officiating. Private Grave Side inurnment will be held at the Fort Logan National Cemetery, next to her loving husband, 4400 W. Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236, at a later date. Aspen Mortuary and Cremations of Lakewood, CO has been entrusted with her care. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in the name of Jewell Little c/o The First United Methodist Church of Salida, or Aspen Mortuary and Cremations of Lakewood CO.
