IRMO - Jim "Bill" Roof, 68 passed away Monday, May 8th, 2023. He was born November 4, 1954 in Chicago, IL to the late James H. and Edith B. Roof. Mr. Roof is survived by one brother and two sisters, Rick (Kathy) Roof of Sandy Run, SC, Jane (Cas) Wawok of Fishers, IN and Linda Snyder of Phoenix, AZ; two nieces and one nephew. Jim retired from Herndon Chevrolet in Lexington, SC. He spent his entire career in the automotive field. He started as an ASE Certified Automotive Technician and attended many GM Training Programs. He loved working on and restoring older cars and never saw a convertible that he didn't love. He enjoyed driving to the mountains or the beach with his top down. Bill loved his three cats and he never refused a stray cat a bowl of food and water. He had a good heart and would help anyone if he could. There are no services planned at the present time. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC.
