Jimmy Alire, a lifelong resident of El Rito passed away unexpectedly on July 27th, 2018. Jimmy was a lineman for Kit Carson Electric Co-op in Taos early in his career and an electrician for the Santa Claran Casino for the past 17 years. Jimmy was proceeded in death by his parents Jose and Juanita Alire of El Rito, his grandparents Porfidio and Edwarda Manzanares, Narciso and Margarita Alire, aunt and uncle who he thought of as a second mom and dad Aniceto and Juanita Alire, all of El Rito, his padrino Waldo Lucero, his brother Horace Alire, sister Ophelia Gurule and nephews Eugene Alire and Kenneth Shamy who he also thought of as a son. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Victoria Alire (Arguello), his children Jose Alire of Santa Fe, Alisha Deymonaz of North Carolina and Patricia Smith of California and Michelle Montoya of El Rito who he thought of as a daughter. His three grandchildren Alyssa and Nathaniel Alire of El RIto and Tori Jolene Deymonaz of North Carolina. His in-laws Juan and Patsy Arguello of Hernandez. His aunt Margaret Mestas of Amarillo, Texas, his madrina Ofrie Lucero of El Rito. His brothers, Pacomio and wife Joyce Alire, Porfidio and Mae, Arturo and Veronica, Robert and Anna, David Alire. His sisters Pauline Varoz, Joanne Hughes, Priscilla and Jerry Gallegos, Lucille and Roy Varela, Judy and Paul Rivera. Honorary pallbearers Juan Carlos Guzman, David Vasquez, Kris Buzzard, Matt Trujillo, Jerome Naranjo, Joel Joseph, Kevin Vasquez, Patrick and Johnny Arguello, William Shamy, Tod Duran, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and extended family at the Santa Claran Hotel and Casino. The Holy Rosary for Jimmy will be recited on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 6:30 PM at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, NM. The Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM also at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church.  Jimmy's family have entrusted his arrangements to the caring staff of:  Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe 3232 Cerrillos Road (505) 395-9150
