Jimmy Clayton Ball
August 14th, 1932 - December 21st, 2015
Kingsport- Jimmy Clayton Ball, 82, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Monday (December 21, 2015) at his home after a long illness of COPD and cancer. He was born in Ages, Kentucky and resided the majority of his life in Evarts, Kentucky. Following retirement, he resided in Kingsport since 2002. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean War. He received several distinguished medals. He retired from Kentucky Utilities as a service manager. Mr. Ball loved to go fishing and helping others. He was a member of Heritage First Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nettie Ball; brothers, Glenn Ball, Claude Ball, Harold Ball; sisters, Frances Ball, Fern Pitkanen, Audra Neal, Wilma Mayfield. Jimmy Ball is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Myrna Madden Ball; sons, Jimmy Clayton Ball, Jr. and wife, Mary, Timothy Alan Ball and wife, Diana; granddaughters, Tiffany Ball, Christina Ball, Courtney Ball, and Macy Ball and fiancé, Jason; a grandson, Timothy Joshua Ball; sisters, Dorothy Drake and husband, Ray, Edna Carol Reynolds and husband, Bill; special sister-in-law, Jo Ann Byington and husband, Randy; special brother-in-law's, Wade S. Madden and Jay Conrad Madden; a sister-in-law, Kay Sargent along with several nieces and nephews. A sincere thank-you goes out to Dr. Ananthula, Amedisys Hospice, Chaplain Tom Edwards, especially Pastor Steve Tilley along with his church family for the special care given during his illness. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (December 23, 2015) from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday (December 23, 2015) at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Tilley, officiating. A military entombment service will follow the funeral service on Wednesday (December 23, 2015) at Washington County Memory Gardens with American Legion Hammond Post #3/#265 in charge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage First Church of God, 470 Rock Springs Road, Kingsport, TN 37663. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Ball family.
