Jimmy Guffey
March 1st, 1956 - January 28th, 2024
Jimmy Guffey, 67, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. The son of Wendall Guffey and the late Ida Wright Guffey, Jimmy was born March 1, 1956, in Albany, Kentucky. A “Jack of all Trades”, Jimmy loved to work and help people, never meeting a stranger. If you needed it done, he could take care of it for you. Happy in his life, he enjoyed fishing and sharing his catch with his family and friends at his famous fish fries. Above all, Jimmy loved his family, especially his grandbabies. In addition to his father, Wendell Howard Guffey, Sr of Millville, Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Ray Curtsinger) Guffey of Frankfort and Tina (Wade Walton) Updike of Millville; his siblings, Michael Guffey of Versailles, Barbara Fay Guffey (George) Lay of Versailles, Elizabeth Jean Guffey McLean of Frankfort, and Wendell Howard Guffey, Jr of Millville; and his grandchildren, Tova Curtsinger, Taya Curtsinger, and Trinity Updike. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Jean Wright Guffey; a sister, Particia Ann Guffey Smalley; and a granddaughter, Tesa Curtsinger. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00p, Monday, February 5, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Pastor Keith Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort with Wendall Guffey, Ray Curtsinger, Wade Walton, Brian Warner, and Paul Walker serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 11:00a until the time of service on Monday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.lovetotherescue.org.
