Jimmy Mann
February 27th, 1935 - July 20th, 2015
James R. (Jimmy) Mann, 80, of Weber City passed away (July 20th, 2015) at his home. He was born and lived in Scott County all of his life, and a graduate of Shoemaker High School. He was a member of the Catlett Masonic Lodge #35 for 50 years where he attained the 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason; and was a past potentate of the Jericho Shrine Temple. Jimmy was an active member of Holston View United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. Jimmy was the founder and co-owner of Frazier & Mann Fuel Oil Company until his retirement. He also drove a school bus for Scott County Schools for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oak and Edna Mann; and brother, Edgar Mann He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Mann; son, Kenneth Mann and wife Linda; daughter, Nancy Bray and husband Jim; two granddaughters, Jessie Nichole Bray and Jaime Bray Harber and husband Adam; great granddaughter, Alexandra Harber; two brothers, M.J. Mann and wife, Betty, Donald Mann and wife, Dorothy; sister, Freda Isley and husband, Paul; two step brothers, Johnny and William Brickey; sister in law, Betty S. Mann; and several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Wednesday at Scott County Funeral Home. A service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Donald Hanshew and Pastor Wayne Hedrick officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 10am Thursday at Holston View Cemetery. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:20am to follow in procession. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Jack Frazier, James Kilgore, Lee Bright, Ed Ketron and Charles Spratlin In lieu of flowers, it would please the family if donations were sent in Jimmy's memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children 950 W. Faris Rd Greeneville, SC 29605 or to Holston View United Methodist Church (designate to the Ft. Blackmore Methodist Camp) 174 Church St. Weber City, VA 24290. Special thanks should go to his caregivers.
