Jimmy Wayne Murchison passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at his home. He was 78 years old. He was a life long resident of Guilford County. Preceding him in death were his parents; Edward Matthew Murchison & Sudie Callicutt Murchison. Sisters; Ruth M. Gardner, Edna M. Jones, Blanch M. Gardner. Brother; Coy Edward Murchison. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane Murchison. Their sons; Jimmy E., John H., and Josh W. Granddaughter; Leah Renee Murchison. Sister; Mildred Murchison. Brother in Laws; Howard Jones, Kelly Leonard & wife Linda. Nieces & Nephews; Knight Gardner & wife Kim, Tim Gardner & wife Kathy, Matt Gardner & wife Melissa, Erin Ussery & husband John, Kristen Harrington & husband Chase, Kari Leonard. Along with several great nieces & nephews. He was a life long member of Eller Memorial Baptist Church. He was a veteran serving in the National Guard. A graduate of Greensboro Senior High. He worked for Cone Mills in various roles and plants for 25 years. He retired from CGR Products as Maintenance Supervisor. He loved woodworking, gardening, and rocking on his front porch. He enjoyed any activities that included his family, especially trips to the beach with his granddaughter, Leah. Special thanks to Doreen Smith & Onyeje Ijaola of Hospice of Greensboro for their excellent care and for making him laugh & smile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of Greensboro or Eller Memorial Baptist Church. Graveside services will be in Lakeview Cemetery on Friday August 25, 2017 at 11:00 am with Dr. Bruce Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening August 24, from 6-8 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Services will be assisting the family.
