Jo-Olive Frakes

Jo-Olive Frakes (Ragsdale) was born on November 12, 1929 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jo-Olive passed away at the age of 89 in the presence of her loving family on Monday September 23, 2019. Jo-Olive is survived by her sister Phoebe Jean Wolvington and brother Grant Ragsdale; children, Karen Hayes, Karl Frakes, Kerry Frakes and Kim Ackles; grandchildren, Maxwell Frakes, Kristopher Hays, Stacia Bourbeau, Korina Ackles and Devin Davis ; great grandson Gabriel Bourbeau. She is preceded in death by her parents Darryl and Olive Jo-Olive was beloved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful artist in many mediums including watercolor, oil painting, and pastels. She loved her garden, feeding the birds and worrying about the happiness of everyone and everything surrounding her. She lived in Denver and Aurora most of her life and liked to tell us stories, including when she would ride the trolley to school at East High School. She was always very athletic playing softball and participating in a bowling a league in her younger days. “I am the wind in the trees and the song of a bird. I am moonbeams in a midnight sky and a glorious rainbow after the storm. I am the morning dew and freshly fallen snow. I am a butterfly flying overhead and a puppy happily at play. I am a gentle touch, a warm embrace. Open your heart to know; I am not gone. Reach deep into your soul; you will find me. I am here. Have no fear, I am with you, always.”
