Musgrove Family Mortuary
Joan Clark
June 6th, 1930 - August 18th, 2021
Joan passed away on August 18, 2021 at the age of 91, 24 years after she was given two months to live! She beat cancer in 1997 and two more times. A service will be held at 2:00 PM on September 18th at Westside Baptist Church in Eugene. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. She leaves her sister, Bonnie of Illinois, a daughter, Connie Madsen (Darrell) of Cheshire, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews. She was also Grandma to many of Connie and Darrell’s foster children. Her husband of 54 years, Jack H. Clark Jr. preceded her in death. Joan was born in Boxholm, Iowa on June 6, 1930 where she went to school and graduated from high school. After attending beauty school in Fort Dodge, Iowa, she worked as a hair dresser at Yonkers Department store. She cut and permed the hair of family members through the years. On November 4, 1950 she married Jack H.Clark Jr. They moved to southern California where their daughter was born. In the 1960’s they moved to Bellfountain, Oregon where they took on the project of remodeling their 100 year old farm house. They also lived in Eugene, Veneta and Myrtle Creek, OR. Joan worked at a many different jobs. Her love of antiques turned into a business in the 80’s. She and a friend started Pioneer House Antique store in Myrtle Creek. She enjoyed refinishing and repairing old things. After closing the shop, she continued to do antique shows and sell items in antique malls. Joan found joy and fun in traveling (especially cruises), singing in the church choir, collecting recipes, going to garage sales, cats, teas and parties, Red Hat Society and other women’s groups, oil painting, garage sales, redecorating, dressing up, and the latest trends and fashions.
