Joan Deschenes Hoffman

Joan Deschenes Hoffman, age 69,of Jupiter, Florida passed away at her home on September 10, 2021. Visitation and memorial services will be held September 25, at J.B. Tallent Funeral Service, 1937 N Sharon Amity Rd., Charlotte, NC 28205. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 PM followed with a memorial service at 3:00. Joan was born on May 19,1952 at the Lying-In in Providence, Rhode Island. She graduated from Charlotte Catholic High School in 1970 and from Watts School of Nursing, in Durham NC, in 1973. Her nursing career began in Charlotte at Carolina Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. Her concentration was in the area of cardiac nursing. She was able to practice at many distinguished hospitals including: Ohio State University, Ochsner Medical Center, and Houston Methodist Hospital. Joan traveled to Saudi Arabia to assist with heart procedures being performed on the royal family. Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack Hoffman. She is also survived by her sister Lynn Scavone (Gary), her brothers: John Deschenes (Mary), Tom Deschenes (P.J.), and Paul Deschenes (Tara). She was loved by her nieces : Meredith Wood (John), Catherine Stallings (Max), Frances Marsh (Steven), Ali Black (J.B.), Amber Hobbs (Connor), Megan Deschenes, and Nephews: Chris Deschenes (Beth) and David Scavone (Becky) Thomas Deschenes (Rachel). She also enjoyed her time with her 11 great-nieces and nephews. There was nothing Joan enjoyed more than being together with her family in Charlotte, at the beach, or entertaining at her home. She had friends throughout the country and the world. Joan had the ability to make everyone feel included and welcome wherever she was. If there was a special occasion, she would be in the crowd celebrating!
