Joan Ruth Kaplan Joan Ruth Kaplan, 68, of Charlotte, NC died on May 28, 2012. Beloved daughter of the late Robert Goldman and Mildred Schweitzer Goldman. Joan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rabbi Morton Kaplan, of Charlotte, NC; her three sons Jonathan and his wife Jeanne Kaplan of Israel, Michael and his wife Kathleen Kaplan of North Wales, PA and Dr. Joel and his wife Amanda Kaplan of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her brother Rabbi Mark Goldman and his wife Meryl of St. Augustine, Fl and twelve grandchildren. Mrs. Kaplan was a member of Hadassah, and Temple Beth El, Charlotte, NC. Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services at 12 NOON on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226, with interment to follow at the Hebrew Cemetery, Charlotte, NC. Shiva will be observed at the home of Dr. Joel and Amanda Kaplan on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Memorials in Joan?s honor may be made to The Rabbi?s Discretionary Fund c/o Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.
