Malone, Joan R., 92, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Bon Secours Place. Born in New York, New York, she came here in 1968 from New Rochelle, NY. She completed her Bachelor's degree at USF and went on to get her Master's in Education and Gerontology. She was a school teacher at St. Pete High School for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. She was a long time volunteer at ASAP Homeless Shelter and did pastoral care at Bayfront Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Lee Malone, and her son, Tom Malone. She is survived by her daughters, Caroline Malone of Jacksonville, FL, Moon Reilly of Pinellas Park and Christina Malone of Nashville, TN; two sons, Michael L. Malone of Tazewell, TN and Sheridan (Linda) Malone of Ukiah, CA; daughter in law, Kathy Malone; and beloved family member Denise Malone. two sisters, Macy Beha of Rye, NY, and Madeline Bailey of New York, NY; six granchildren, Melissa, Mandy, Eric, Harrison, David, and Sarah ; one great grandson, Parker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to ASAP Homeless Shelter or Suncoast Hospice.
