Joan Louise Schiavi

Joan Louise Schiavi, age 68, a twelve year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. Joan was born October 22, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Vernon W. and the late Helen A. (Foley) Erickson. Joan spent most of her life in Lake Zurich IL as a loving, family centered woman. After her children entered high school, she worked in fashion retail, allowing her to express her love of clothes, shoes and accessories. Joan was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Community and had volunteered for Lutheran Services in Las Vegas. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Schiavi; children Mark (Debbie) Schiavi of Sycamore IL and Susan Freiter of San Diego CA; grandchildren Nicole (Jake) Bentley of Newport Beach CA, Eric Hallan of Las Vegas, Ashton Hallan of San Diego CA, Taylor Buenzli of Genoa IL and Nickolas Schiavi of Barrington Hills IL; brothers Ed Radke of Wisconsin and Bill (Susie) Erickson of West Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Dr., #104; the family will receive visitors beginning at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joan's memory to the American Cancer Society.
