Joan Hay Wier
June 19th, 1936 - May 13th, 2009
Wier, Joan Hay 72, of Tierra Verde, FL, left this world to be with her savior Jesus Christ on May 13, 2009. She leaves behind her husband of fifty years, Jack Wier, Jr., her two children, Terry Llewellyn Todd and John B. Wier, III Sherri, her five granddaughters, Ashlyn and Paige Wier, Jaclyn Walker of Greenville, SC., Tatum Llewellyn and Velma Baz. Joan earned an RN degree at Barrett School of Nursing in Augusta, GA, however, her most meaningful accomplishment in life was being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Island Chapel Church on Tierra Verde. Joan was a true Southern Belle with an ever present big lovely warm smile and a passion for life. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at The Island Chapel Church, 1271 Pinellas Bayway S., Tierra Verde. There will be a celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at The Island Chapel Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to Operation Smile www.operationsmile.org Operation Smile volunteers work world-wide to repair childhood facial deformities.
