Joann C. Johnston

Johnston, Joann C., 79, of Sun City Center, Florida passed away Friday, May 23, 2008. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William Johnston, her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diane Johnston, Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter, Janet Johnston of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and David Dupill of Norfolk, Connecticut and grandchildren, Casey McGraw and Alexa Dupill, her sister, Maryo Bierman of Sun City Center, Florida, two nieces and three nephews. She grew up in San Angelo, Texas and attended Texas Tech and The University of Texas. She received a BA in psychology from Western Connecticut State College and an MA in psychology from The University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. After raising her children, Joann had a 17 year career counseling clients at the Southbury Training School in Southbury, Connecticut. She was lovingly devoted to helping her disabled clients learn and live the best lives possible. Joann also loved gardening, playing Bridge, the symphony and drawing/painting and won many honors for her artwork. She also took an active interest in her children and grandchildren and helped and encouraged them in their various activities and sports. A memorial service will take place at 2 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Sun City Center Funeral Home.
