JoAnn "Jan" Ross

JoAnn “Jan” Ross, 75, of Caldwell, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. She was born to Oscar and Juanita Haumann in Greenleaf, Idaho on December 8, 1936. She attended school in Caldwell. In 1953 she married Bob Carpenter and together they had 3 children. They later divorced. In 1981 she married Bob Ross. They loved to travel and enjoy life. Jan’s love of sewing began at a young age and after she had children she made all of them clothes. Sewing as a hobby also grew into making doilies, crocheting, needlework, quilting and making dolls. All members of her family benefited from her handiwork. Jan loved her family and get-togethers. Every Christmas was the highlight of her life. She was an avid card player and loved to play Shanghai Rummy (No Cheating) with her best friend Gary Harrell. She was a member of the Hello Dollie Doll Club in Caldwell. The family would like to give a special thank you to XL Hospice and the staff at Autumn Wind Assisted Living. Jan is survived by her children Sheree (Mike) Wallace, Susie (Dave) Roblyer and Randy (Cheryl) Carpenter, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Keith (Juanita) Haumann, and her best friend Gary Harrell. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Ross, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A visitation will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Jan’s graveside service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com. Service Information
