Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel - Payette
JoAnne Good
December 11th, 1955 - December 28th, 2019
JoAnne Jensen Good, 64, passed away peacefully December 28, 2019, with her family gathered around her. She was born December 11, 1955, in Rexburg, Idaho to Keith and Marian Jensen. JoAnne had a wonderful childhood in Rupert, Mountain Home and Payette, Idaho. She was active in high school and won class offices each year, including Student Body Vice President her Senior year. After high school JoAnne attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and BYU in Provo, Utah. She married the love of her life, Jason Good, in Payette in 1976, and they were parents to two children, Wren Morgan Good Garcia and Stuart Elton Good. She was a grandmother to three beautiful granddaughters: Reese, Ellie, and Adalyn Garcia. JoAnne later attended and graduated from Boise State University with a teaching degree in Secondary Education. She taught English and College Prep classes at Weiser High School for 27 years. She took great joy in her students. She adored them and wrote them a handwritten letter every year for their Christmas gifts. She highlighted their talents and urged them to be a success at life in whatever they chose, and that they had an important purpose to accomplish. She loved her students and remembered them all her life. She appreciated many of her colleagues and spoke lovingly of them as her best friends. JoAnne struggled with health problems the last few years of her life, but she often talked about her days of teaching with great happiness. One of her favorite memories was attending a Senior class party in 2002 to say goodbye to the graduating class, and as she stepped out of her car, the class stood and clapped for "Mrs. Good." A highlight, for sure. Many times former students saw her and rushed to hug her, and several still had her handwritten letters in their wallets. JoAnne will truly miss her kind children and granddaughters. She cherished her family, and they loved and adored her as well. We will miss JoAnne always. JoAnne is survived by her children and loving son-in-law Andy, granddaughters, her mother Marian Jensen, sisters Jan (Richard) Green, Teresa (Wes) Yamashita, Lisa (Steve) DeMaiolo, brother Russ (Suzanne) Jensen, and sister-in-laws Marla Leedy, Merlene Wilson, and Fay Good. She was preceded in death by her husband Jason Good, father Keith Jensen, brothers-in-law Terry Marren and Jeffery Good, nephew Tyler Jensen, Jason's parents Elton and Lily Good, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. A memorial service will be held at 3:30am, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Fruitland. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel.
