Joanne Marie (Horn) Skeval of Fabius, NY passed away, at home, on October 23, 2021. She was born in Syracuse, NY on September 22, 1930 to the late Edwin and Helen (McMahon, Gunson) Horn. Joanne graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and then the LaFayette School district as a school nurse for 25 years, where she retired. Predeceased by her brother Robert Horn; sisters Patricia Maher and Rosemary Young; former husband W. James Skeval. Joanne is survived by her five sons; Christopher (Carrie Berse) of DeWitt, NY, Eric (Luann) of Cortland; David (Pati) of Fabius, NY; Paul (Cynthia) of LaFayette, NY; Brian (Sandra) of Fabius, NY; brother David (Kristine) of Apulia Station, NY; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and, nephews; Sister-in Law Marley Crane of North Carolina. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 29th at St. Joseph’s Church, LaFayette, NY from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in LaFayette, NY on Saturday, October 30th at 10am. Contributions in lieu of flowers to; Golisano Children Hospital, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210; LaFayette Outreach, Rt. 20, LaFayette, NY 13084; Pompey Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 7404 Academy St., Pompey, NY 13138.
